What to Wear School Edition

When it’s time to go back to school, it’s also time to check the closets and see what each child needs for the new year. Finding time to go shopping can overshadow those last lazy days of summer. As a working mom, Marie Tillman, who grew up in the Bay Area, struggled to find beautiful, high-quality clothing options without spending a lot of time shopping. So she founded Mac & Mia in 2014. This burgeoning company has a team of over 100 stylists that specialize in building a child’s wardrobe with curated, stylish clothing and accessories of excellent quality. Once you set up an online profile, a stylist is assigned to your family. Each box includes roughly six to nine items that have been hand-selected by the stylist to meet a child’s unique preference. This fall/winter 2018 season, Mac & Mia’s buyers went with a mix of local organic brands and European labels. Their team of stylists tells Gentry why some of these fall pieces are perfect for that first-day-of-school outfit.
